Autumn deep sky

Post by cte »

A couple of famous deep sky objects of the autumn sky. The Andromeda galaxy and the heart nebula on cassiopea. The first is an lrgb combination taken with a 130 mm triolet refractor equipped with focal/reducer flattener at f 5.5. The second is a wide field hubble palette composition with a 80 mm triplet reduced at f4.8.
Integration was about 5.5 hours in both cases.

Thank you Alexandra, :D deep sky objects are my favorite targets, I like the darkness and silence of the night. My countryside location, close to rivers and in a plane between alps and appennines near the sea level, is far from being ideal as a location. It is often very humid and sky is not very transparent. Long integration times and filters often help. The only advantage is that often seeing is quite good compated to the rest of the italian land.
