Framed up what I assumed would capture the full disc to include all prominences
Then when I process the image I see a huge faint one that pushed beyond any expeditions I had.

Now I can only hope that someone else here has captured this to see just how much further out it reached.

Lesson learned.

Nice catch! That is the pillar-like prom that was in my animation from earlier. You caught it in mid liftoff.

Hi Cybermayberry,

That is indeed a very tall prom!! Has happened to me in the past. Nowadays, I refer to live web solar images (e.g. https://gong2.nso.edu/ to make sure I don't miss any interesting feature. Kind of cheating but it helps.
