Very nice Pedro! Which camera do you find has the highest dynamic range?

Thanks Mark

The best cameras with highest dynamic range are CCD cameras (solar imaging).

CMOS cameras work well but the images are harder to process, lower dynamic range, noise...

For deep sky imaging CMOS cameras (ZWO, player one..) work well

Check out this image obtained with a ZWO ASI2600MM + Baader H-alpha 7nm filter

Pedro,
Which lunar image was your favorite? Which camera of these proved best for imaging the moon?

James

I enjoyed them. I have really gotten into lunar imaging lately.

Thanks again guys

James, for lunar imaging ZWO CMOS cameras work well. ASI174MM and ASI1600 are good choices

I use the ZWO ASI178MM and the PGR Grasshopper for lunar imaging. Both seem to work well. Of course the PGR is a CCD.

Welcome.

Thanks James

I bought the ASI178MM to use with the Sol'Ex. It's a great camera for HR image as well (small pixels)

I prefer using CCD cameras for Solar & Lunar imaging. Better dynamic range and less noise

Pedro,
Even though my Grasshopper is an older Firewire version I really like it. I use it actually more than I use the ASI178MM. After I move I plan to purchase a SW EQ6R Pro and AT150EDL refractor. The mount should make a lot of difference since it should be able to accurately track the sun and should improve my images with all of my scopes. Hopefully I will get more time to learn more software too. Like FireCapture. Really good images take time and lately it is something I just don't have. So it is mostly quick image captures. Hopefully I will have time to dive deeper soon.

James
