AR 3614, 3615 with Soleye 300 Violet and Ca-K filter

Post by Laszlo Francsics »

AR 3614 and 15 with Soleye "Reverse Granule" Ca-K filter and "Violet" mirror.
  • Soleye300 with Violet mirror
  • ASI 174 MM
  • 3 ms/80 gain - 4000/600 frames - narrowband
  • 0,13 ms/0 gain 4000/600 frames - broadband
  • Soleye "Reverse Granule" 3,7A Ca-K filter
  • broadband image: EO 393 10 nm hbw filter
  • average seeing - 10-20 km/h steady wind

Second test of Soleye 300 "Violet" mirror at still low sun angle, 35-40 degrees altitude, around 70-75% of possible resolution.

We achieved a much higher resolution than the first time we tested it, although the seeing was still not the best. Despite of the poor/medium seeing, the result was very good.

The AR 3615 is shown at a very early stage of development, in a two-panel mosaic.
It's also worth checking out in 100%.

The much smaller AR3614 is captured with and without the Soleye RG filter. The exposure time of the 10 nm hbw broadband filter is extrem. This can explain the excellent image quality despite the medium seeing.

Fantastic shots Laszlo, and the Sun is still rather low.

Are you still observing near a lake ?

Thanks to everyone.

Christian, yes, these pictures were taken exactly where I took my 1st successful solar image series almost exactly 2 years ago. It was you who wrote the first post about them here on solarchat.

Laszlo,
These are incredible! They certainly display the ability of large aperture, good seeing and a skilled hand at processing.

Congratulations on the SPOD!! :bow
