Farewell Animation to AR3645 et al 4/26/2024

Post by rigel123 »

No great eruptions as this super group of spots rotated passed the Western Limb this morning but an interesting display of surge spikes located behind a fairly dense prominence making it look like lightning above a thunderhead on the horizon! Lots of additional pops and surges all along that active region. This is 1 hour and 10 minutes through some pretty murky cirrus clouds but the Pixinsight Batch Linear Fit did a great job in this case of balancing the histograms. Thanks David, Mark and Franco! No chance for additional captures today, nothing but clouds and wind predicted.

That prominence indeed does look like a thunderhead rising above the solar surface.
