Session from Sunday May 12th

Post by MapleRidge »

Good day everyone...

I had a chance to do some imaging on Sunday morning before clouds came in a shut down the time at the scope. Pity with so much activity, but this was what I caught. I started with eh WL and CaK filters on the Orion EON130, and the WL views of departing AR3664 were nicely detailed:

The CaK was equally impressive in the live view, but the loop proms in the NE really threw me off guard:

Now I was anxious to see what the Ha views offered of this prom and all the other details on the disk:

I wasn't long before the clouds appeared and I had to wait out clear patches, but that only lasted so long. I was able to image most of the main features with the SS modded SR-150/DSII/B1800Ha with a 4x Powermate and ASI432MM camera:

I managed to get a usable image of the loop prom before I shut down due to clouds (and the USB connection to camera crapped out too  )...I guess it wasn't meant to be ;)

That's all form Sunday. More cloud and rain has meant another delay in planting crops...I should have retired in the winter
