Full Disc 17-05-2024

Post by rsfoto »

Hi,

Same story as yesterday, Sunny and Blue sky and hig temperatures.

Looks like my Saturn-M SQR when the camera gets hotter then 36°C just stops delivering images. Already reported this to Player-One. Will see if I can put a more effective Heat Sink on the camera. I also think the problem is that at 12% relative humidity the Air can not dissipate heat from the Heat sink as if I would have 50% humidity.

I guess I will need a mist sprayer on top of the fan

Gyro Gearloose will get in action again I guess ...

The seeing varied from 1" to 2"

I do hope too but I do not have great expectations about this... but I can be wrong. Let us see what happens

Looks good Rainer. On finding a way to cool your camera your engineering skills can come into play.

Hi James,

The camera has a cooler already with a 50x50mm heatsink and a 40x40mm Peltier controlled with a W1209 controller

I need to find better heatsinks and I was reading about heat sinks with integrated heat pipes.

Need to investigate more

Below the actual cooling system

Rainer,
It looks like a cooler that would be found on a computer processor.

James

There must be something other than just the heat since I was operating my Saturn showing a chip temp of 48C for nearly two hours capturing videos for an animation and no problems.
