Anyone in for a CNCed Aluminium Sol'Ex housing?

Post by minhlead »

After quite some time fighting hopelessly with the 3D printed housing, and having to go through several 3D printed versions of the Solex Housing, I decided to throw in the towel and go for a CNC Aluminium housing. As it turns out, the aluminum housing working particularly well for me. Zero focus/collimation shift, zero degradation under intense solar radiation, zero light leak without any added shielding. Perfect for remote, unattended usage.
I was made aware that a few of my friends need a similar kit for their solex and I am gathering to see if I can have enough kit for a bulk buy and have some discount on it.
P/S: I paid 200$ for my kit made here in VN. Shipping from Vietnam to US is about 12$/kg and the whole package is about 2-3 kg, tops. I can ship world wide. I am hoping I can negotiate for a better price if we can gather enough orders. So let me know if you are interested. Thanks!

Hi,

US $ 200,00 is a good price. I would recommend you anodize all parts for better durability over the years. Anodize in natural color. Black is a bad idea due to heat.

Well done. :band2
