3664 Tremendous Activity 05092024

Post by pdmphoton »

Skies cleared up this morning around 10:30am so off I went to image the big sunspot group 3664. Despite a fair amount of turbulence I was able to obtain some good captures of this stunning activity.
Lunt 130MT stopped down to 100mm. Double Stacked. ASI 174mm and 2.5X Powermate.

Amazing and I love your processing! What were your capture settings, was this at critical sampling?

Thank you for the compliment. Yes with the 130mm stopped down to 100mm and the 2.5 X PowerMate, the ASi 174mm is working at critical sampling of f/22.
Captured at 130fps 7.9ms with a gain of 145. On average, stacking the best 100 frames out of 500 - 2000 frames in AS4.
Tonal curve adjustments and sharpening in ImPPG. Finished off in Photoshop 2024.

Clear Skies,
Paulm
