This is by far my biggest timelapse project to date. A total of 1878 recordings was made between 06:41 and 17:14UT on May 18th 2024 under variable conditions. Each recording was 18 seconds long with a framerate of 66fps (1188 frames) and 2 seconds delay between each recording resulting in a total of approx 3,7TB of data.
The recordings where obtained through an iStar Asteria TCR 204-12 R35, with an Altair Astro 115mm TRIBAND H-Alpha D-ERF, Baader 35nm H-Alpha, Baader SunDancer II 3x Telecentric System TZ-3S, DayStar Quantum 0,4å PE and Player One Apollo-M Max mounted on a Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ6 PRO and guided with Hinode SolarGuider.
The best 200 frames from each recording was stacked in AutoStakkert!4 before they were aligned and sharpened in ImPPG. Change in light intensity due to variable transmission and athmospheric distinction was corrected using GBDeflicker. A total of 126 frames had to be tossed due to passing clouds or wind shaking the scope resulting in 1752 fames making it into the final animation which was created using PIPP at 15fps. This effectively compressed the 10 hours 33 minutes of duration down to just 1 minute 56 seconds.
