Sunshine Saturday 18th May

Post by marktownley »

Playing catchup with processing here... Saturday 18th May offered clear blue skies, and seeing was pretty good, however we had friends stopping over for the weekend and with a busy schedule meant I didn't have as much time as I would like for solar. I did get a view of the major features in CaK though.

First off the full disk overview, 40mm f15 with the zwo183mm.

Then the closeups taken 66mm f15, a 2x cemax and the zwo290mm...

Hope you like!

These are great, Mark. Some beautiful proms in the FD and spicules in the others: they are very difficult to extract in Calcium.

Wonderful detail in those.

Love the side-on effect that almost looks down into the edge of the sunspots as they edge towards the rim. My brain seeks the effect's name, but eludes me!
