Unable to login (most of the time)

Post by PDB »

When trying to login in the forum usually get this:

500: Internal server error

This error is generated when a script running on the server could not be implemented or permissions are incorrectly assigned for files or directories

Troubleshooting suggestions:

Temporarily disable any rewrite rules by renaming your .htaccess file if it exists.

Ensure that any CGI or Perl scripts have at least .755. permissions.

If trying to run PHP and you get this error, you may have an invalid php.ini in your /cgi-bin, or may be missing your php.dat file in this folder.

Have already cleared the cache several times, disabled adblockers and tracker blocking but still get the errror. Sometimes it goes better when not-logged in open a message and then try to login. But this error message seems to be on server side.

Regards,

Paum

Im getting that fairly frequently as well. I believe this is more than just an emptying the cache issue.

I am sorry for the delay but before I notify the consultant that I work with for a tech problem and pay his fees, I try to make sure that everyone has followed the emptying cache instructions properly or that this is indeed a universal issue and not just in some people's browsers.

I sent a tech support request to our guy this morning and we are working on it.

I noticed if I refresh my version of the login screen, it seems to work.

Mark Townley just showed me how to get on, I have been trapped for a week. Apparently there is a log in box at the bottom of the front page (I have never looked down there before). If you type directly into that box, voila I'm in :hamster: does this work for you?
It seems that it is the login button at the top of the page that doesn't work.
