Another day another first light (July 13)

Post by gabrieli » Sat Jul 13, 2019 8:53 pm

Near the end of last season, a 6nm (2") Ha filter arrived and there was no chance of trying it. A few days ago a new 4X telecentric arrived and, today (July 13), in a sky that ranged from hazy to completely overcast, I managed 6 images.
As soon as the sky is more suitable, I'll try the new filter and telecentric on my c9.25 with a 0.5X reducer for a 4600 mm efl.
A Lunt 152 was used with a Baader 4X TZ-4 telecentric and Quark Combo. The 2" Ha filter was attached to the 2" nosepiece
of the Ha assembly well inside the telescope tube away from the etalon and camera.

Looking good Lou :bow

Glad you caught some Sun...by mid morning it was clouding over and then rain on and off all afternoon (need it for the crops though).

Very nice images, Lou. It is always fun to try new gear. Looking forward to seeing what the 9.25 produces.
