Solar Analemma. This outstanding image from Alexandra Hart taken over a period of 4 years charts the midday position of the sun in the sky throughout the year. The north–south component of the analemma results from the change in the Sun's declination due to the tilt of Earth's axis of rotation. The east–west component results from the nonuniform rate of change of the Sun's right ascension, governed by combined effects of Earth's axial tilt and orbital eccentricity.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and looking forward to a great solar cycle 25!

Old school sun observation

Check out two extremely rare pieces of equipment for observing the Sun:

1- Clave' Helioscope (triple-prism erector)
2- Clave' Pentaprism (90º Helisoscopic pentaprism )

Available from Clave' (Paris) in the seventies (images from my private collection).

Pedro:
You have a wonderful and incredible collection of astronomical accesories.
I have gathered a lot of things too during my 70 years in the hobby, but never near as you, you really have a museum.
Fuerte abrazo,
Eric.

Pedro,

I gotta ask. Do you have a Unitron in your collection? I always wanted one of those. I remember their ads in Astronomy magazine back in the 1970's.
