September 25th Images

Post by MapleRidge » Sun Sep 29, 2019 3:42 am

Hi everyone...

I finally managed to finish processing a set of images taken over the noon hour last Wednesday (25th). A fairly quiet sun, with only a few small filaments and proms visible. The image below is a disk/limb composite taken with the LS80T/LS75FHa/B1200Ha double stacked scope and the PGR camera. The limb is inverted to enhance the fain proms:

I set the modded 150mm scope up to try to grab the proms, but the seeing was poor and the long exposures did not favour the proms. I found several interesting spots as I scanned around the disk, especially some bright spots in the upper latitudes. The mosaics of the polar regions below were taken weigh the modded CR-150/DSII/B1800Ha scope and the ZWO174MM camera and 3x tele-extender. It looks like a nice bit of activity showing form the new cycle:

A short session, but some interesting features. I'm hoping for sun tomorrow (Sunday) to play with a couple of 'mods' that have been in the works.

I love your full disc, it really shows that the Sun isn't quiet, look at all that plasma hair around the edge! :bow :bow

I'm glad you are getting some sunshine Brian, just think of me all this weekend just sat in the conservatory watching the rain pour down. One bonus was I finally processed all my solar data from the last month! thanks for the email, will respond soon.
