Autostakkert How Paint Alignment Points

Post by Jordan Konisky »

Using Autostakkert 3, I want to manually apply alignment points along the solar limb including a prominence. Of course, I can do this by double clicking my mouse one alignment point at a time. I have seen a few YouTube videos where folks simply drag their cursor along the limb leaving a trail of same-size alignment points, thus painting a set of alignment points. So easy. So efficient. However none of these explain how such painting is accomplished nor can I find instructions for such ease of setting AP's in Autostakkert tutorials or in the manual. I have tried all sorts of combinations of mouse clicks, etc, but to no avail. So I post this message with the hope that someone out there will explain to me how I can gain this capability.

Wow!! can it really do that! I have only ever tediously tried to do one at a time, made a mess, never got a result and always went back to Registax for prominences :)

I would really like to learn this technique too :hamster:

Sorry I am no help at all :)

Hi,

Mystery to me too. The only way I could think of is continous clicking while moving the mouse. Can you share an address of such a youtube video?

I could be wrong, but I don't think Autostakkert itself has that functionality.

That being said, something like that is easy enough to accomplish with a keyboard or extra mouse button macro. A lot of the gaming mice/keyboard software has this sort of functionality built in. Or alternatively, scripting it with something like AutoHotkey would also be an option. My guess is that this is what's happening in those videos you saw.

Here's the website for someone painting on alignment points using Autostakkert. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-41RMTCdTE
I have read elsewhere that Registax is preferred over Autostakkert for prom alignment and stacking so will give it a try.

Hi,

thanks. Exactly what I thought. He is clicking in rapid succession while dragging the mouse over the limb. Good finger exercise :D
You can even hear the clicks is you listen very carefully to the sound.

So no magic :(

For proms what I usually did was place a few (not to many) on areas of the prom (different sizes) usually that worked.

Regards,

Paul
