Solar Analemma. This outstanding image from Alexandra Hart taken over a period of 4 years charts the midday position of the sun in the sky throughout the year. The north–south component of the analemma results from the change in the Sun's declination due to the tilt of Earth's axis of rotation. The east–west component results from the nonuniform rate of change of the Sun's right ascension, governed by combined effects of Earth's axial tilt and orbital eccentricity.

Hi,

Finally I was able to finish a time lapse I made on the old cycle spot. The mounts tracks good at custom speed on the Sun which I found out after a few days of experimenting.

Sidereal rate is 15.041 arcseconds per second

Calculated Solar rate is 15.0 arcseconds per second

but the really Solar rate for keeping the Spot more or less in the center is 0.9965 x 15.041 = 14.988 arcseconds per second, when the Sun is at DEC -23° to -21°at least at my location at 22° North.

You really managed to capture the changes (over time) in the AR quite nicely.

Excellent timelapse, it shows there isn't much going on in this old cycle AR . Even though the new cycle ARs are small they tend to be much more active.
