do you know "astrosurface"?

Post by stef41 »

good morning, everyone,

as I have some time right now ;) I have just tested a software that you may not know : astrosurface ( http://astrosurface.com/pageuk.html ) made by a french guy. :)

Usually, my chain of "production" of solar halpha images is done following this procedure:
- acquisition with firecapture 2.6
- flat processing with autostackert 3 and photoshop
- pretreatment, alignment, addition with autostackert 3
- wavelets with registax 5.1
- finishes with photoshop (in particular "dark tone / light tone" )

a little long and not always conclusive, especially when it comes to flattening.

Well, Astrosurface manages to do all this (or almost) and often better!
- creation and application of the flat works great
- multipoint alignment and addition works better than AS3! especially for the edge of the sun
- wavelets are simple and very good to use
- H-contrast function (HDR) much better (in my opinion) than "dark tone / light tone".

result on my film of yesterday of 15h52 UT (with a little more photoshop for the finishing : sharpening and colouring):
fs60 with sm40 double stack, glasspath x1.25, BF10 and zwo178mm

the software is in English ;) and its small manual too : http://astrosurface.com/manuels/manualshort_1.pdf

I'm sorry, I'm in the wrong place.

If someone can get this thread into "solar software"?

thank you

Yours sincerely,

thank you Stephane, for mentioning me,
but the demo is from Lucien, creator of the software :bow that made it for me so that I could master the way of doing solar

merci Stephane , de me mentionner ,
mais la démo est de Lucien créateur du logiciel qui me l'a faites pour que j'essaye de maitriser la façon de faire en solaire .

As I am so poor at processing, with the usual software, I thought I'd better test out AstroSurface:

First trial, finished off with PhotoFiltre for the mono & blackened disk: 6" f/8, PST mod, ASI120MC colour video.

Quite pleased with the result. ;)

Thanks for share it!

I´ve try it and works very very well! Easy and powerful. In my tests it has worked best for lunar and planetary images than for solar images. I´ll do more tests and I´ll post the results here ;-).
