2020-05-18 - Mid of the week AR's (HA)

Post by JochenM » Wed May 20, 2020 7:35 pm

A beautiful warm sunny day here in tropical Belgium. Unfortunately with a lot of high clouds and an overall very milky sky.

I did manage to squeeze in a very short session when the sky opened up a little bit. The two AR's are still there, although the smaller of the two seems to slowly be on its way out. The big one is still in full force and managed to capture it in a single shot together with a pretty sizeable prom; so two for the price of one there. And I timed it just right (read: got really lucky) since clouds rolled in again right after taking these images.

Setup: 80ED, Quark Chromosphere, 35nm H-Alpha Filter (before the diagonal), IMX174

Thanks for looking!

Very nice work Jochen. I have been under clouds for three days now. Tomorrow does not look good either. :(

Thanks James/Alexandra.

Excellent set of 20th images Jochen thanks.

Even here in SE England today 22nd, apart from 75% cloud-cover, there is the hazy-blue high-level-cloud and/or the contrails.
I have noticed, both on aviation-radar and visually seeing many-more hi-flying jets around, than the previous few weeks.

Clear Skies
Terry

Thanks Terry/Rod.

Now that you mention it, I have noticed a bit more air traffic here again as well. Or well, I've seen some compared to nothing before ;)
