Milky Way down under
This section of the Milky Way shows the Carina region (and the Eta Carina nebula - pink). Taken from SE Australia in my backyard with observatory in the foreground. Single exposure 20 sec x 6400 iso using a Canon Ra camera mounted on a tripod. Cheers to all.

Excellent capture of your Southern skies John.
Other than going to a (25-miles) nearby dark-site, our northern equivalent is difficult (nigh impossible) to capture such detail as yours...

That is an awesome image John...well done!!!
That camera is an incredible performer. A good friend of mine got one last summer and we could push the settings to see the North American Nebula live on the viewfinder.
