New camera for my Lunt50

Post by Taipan »

Sun from 30/5 taken with my Lunt50THa SS.
Bought a new camera because i had a problem with newtonrings with my ZWO 178MM. Got my eyes on the "Player One Neptune-M". It also got the IMX178 sensor but also have built in tiltadaptor. And built in memory for higher speed. So i thought i should try it out. And it is really great. The rings is gone and that makes my work in Photoshop alot easier. I also lernd that i could use Pixinsight to sharpen the picture with better resoults than PS.
For a little Lunt50 i think this is a quite good full disk. :)
Now i have to figure out how to get closeups. Use a powermate? Bye a Quark and use my Esprit80 or TS115mm... Are tinking that the Lunt50 works for full disks but i need something bigger for closeups but dont have the money for a Lunt 152 :)

Great result. I also shoot with Lunt50. Is it a mosaic or does the sun fit entirely onto your sensor?

The sun fits on the sensor. The IMX178 as a 8,92mm diagonal and the sun from the Lunt 50 is about 3,5mm i think so it's lots of space :)
This picture shows the sun on the full sensor

Thank you, there is really a lot of space.
I see that the right side of the disc is "lit up", perhaps you already know what this happens when the pressure tuner is not tuned.

That's a beautiful disc, lots of detail and the processing is superb :hamster: :bow
