Full disk H-alpha animation and stills on 14th July 2021

Post by cmas »

First of all, I seem to have clear focus drift when the outside temp reaches to about 30 degC so the end part of the animation gets soft, but I decided to leave it there just for the record. I installed my DIY Arduino + "less than one euro motor from china" -based motor focuser to the Sharpstar so we'll see next time if I'm able to produce better quality images / animations.

The Sun seems to be quiet at the moment (or at least was yesterday during my one hour imaging session). First the animations and then two still images. The crop in the animations is a bit too tight but as I have an Alt-Az mount and the tracking in SolarQuest is not the best, I'd need to scale the background canvas up in Photoshop but I was too lazy to do that.

Very nice results, both animation and stills.
