Interesting video of the Maxim DL processing-stage Pedro and thanks for sharing.

One of these days (nights) if I can get to the stage of decent DS imaging, I would purchase Maxim DL, but the night-sky pollution is still quite bad here, even though some nearby street-lighting is turned-off at midnight or 0100hrs(local).

Thanks Ivan

I do not plane to image the Sun with the TMB175. I built a third observatory to house it together with a Paramount ME. I have a 180mm f/6 APM Achromatic that I will use to image the Sun though

Many thanks again Pedro for the interesting animation.

I will never likely get to the same standard of the night-sky imaging that you have reached, as your weather and temperature is significantly better than mine, but it certainly shows what can be achieved with the same dedication that you have shown for all your imaging.
Although my main-obsy does have a warm-section, to operate there for longer periods of time, at my age, is not easy...

But at least looking at your images and the gear too, certainly is well nice to see - thank you.

Regards
Terry

Thanks vm for your latest captures of M74 and M1 Pedro.
I was wondering if you captured (or tried to) of Comet Leonard (C/2021 A1) and its' close encounter with globular cluster M3 :?: :?:

Becoming Magnitude 4, it looks as if it could be a good capture and of course is actually lit by our Sun !!!

I certainly would be interested in seeing such a capture(s) and weather permitting might get to see it myself...

Cheers
Terry

Pedro, this is very beautiful. I also shot the M81 with a short refractor and it was a failure. I had a three hour total exposure, but the arms of the galaxy barely showed up, and the stars were swollen due to poor vision. Your work is simply magnificent, what is the final exposure?

Professional quality work Pedro! The only deep sky astrophoto I have ever done was of M31 using my iPhone. I got the bright central region ok but it didn't pick up the fainter outer regions of the galaxy.

Can the ZWO ASI178MM be used for deep sky astrophotography?

James

James, I think compact objects like planetary nebulae are fine. Of course, the result will not be as impressive, but something will work out. It is necessary to understand with which telescope it is better to use it. Previously, I used Stellarium, where it is possible to see how this or that object will fit (or not) on the matrix of your camera.

Thanks James

ZWO cameras are great for deep-sky imaging but you have to use the cooled version. You can try using your uncooled AS178MM for bright objsects (e.g.clusters)

Globulars maybe? Bright ones like M13, M5 or M22?

Yes, try short integrations (1 to 5min) and combine the images
