Delta Aquarids July 2021

Post by Carbon60 »

Still running... my meteor radio detected an increase in meteor hourly rate at the end of July as Earth entered a stream of Cometary debris know as the Delta Aquarids. Although not known for certain, the Comet of origin is suspected to be Comet 96P Machholz.

Later this month we'll see a much more significant uptick as we enter the Perseid meteor shower. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for looking.

That went up quite a bit with the aquarids. Keep us updated on how rates develop with the Perseids Stu, fingers crossed we will have some clear skies to see them.

Hi Stu,

We here in Mexico also got a more red in the colorgramme graph. Unfortunately I forgot to make a screenshot of them

Many thanks, Mark and Rainer.

Rainer, don’t you retain your monthly data?

Hi Stu,

Yes, but not in form of a graph and so far I am too dumb to make a graph with the provided data

Have not yet learned how to do it

Hi Rainer,

You're more than welcome to have a copy of my excel spreadsheet to plot your data. It's a bit clunky to use, but easy to learn.

Stu.
