On September 19, I photographed (I'm not sure exactly) part of the solar halo. Interestingly, as such, there was no halo around the Sun. The fact that the photo is all that was interesting.

It's called a Sun dog https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_dog
You have just the left hand part probably because you don't have enough cloud in the right place to see the other parts of the optical phenomenon. Most of the time I only see one part too.
