An hour before sunset
The pond in the city park is frozen over.
14:50 local time. I am so glad that there is almost no snow, unfortunately this happens quite rarely.

Re: An hour before sunset
Thanks, Alexandra,
I skated and played hockey (not professionally) until the age of 20. But not here. There are quite a few outdoor skating rinks in the city for skating and playing. Now I only skate on roller skates.

Re: An hour before sunset
Thanks Ivan for your local view and yes winter can be so depressive, especially if snow is deep enough that causes disruption and makes even walking dangerous when ice is a factor...

Re: An hour before sunset
That is a nice scene in the picture!!!
I have to admit that I like the winter as much as any other season, and do like a old fashioned blizzard Then again, I'm pretty strange It is the one season that I am not run off my feet with work, so I get more personal time and still try to get out to skate, ski, and hike in the snow.

Over time, snow and winter bothered me so much that I stopped liking winter sports. True, my daughter is growing up and, apparently, everything will have to be repeated Last year we rode down the hill on a tubing.

Re: An hour before sunset
Today it is cold here, in the daytime -15 Celsius, even colder at night. The Volga is already frozen, in two or three weeks it will be possible to cross to the other bank on the ice, if the frosts do not go away.
This is the Sun through a small flat piece of ice a couple of centimeters thick, it seemed to me like a photo in the Calcium line .

Re: An hour before sunset
Fabulous!! I did think the ice looked like a Ca K image beautiful of the river all frozen too.
I went ice skating in Hyde Park, London yesterday. We had great fun zooming about (didn't fall over either). I thought of you and your frozen lakes and rivers

Re: An hour before sunset
Ivan,
Your area is beautiful, even if it is cold. I would learn to ice skate if I lived there. I once roller skated a lot in my younger days.
Your photos are really nice. I would get out a lot there. It's the only way to beat the depressing winter blues.
