Foggy walk

Post by Montana »

Currently we have been sat under cloud and fog for weeks now and have not seen the daytime sky. We went for a local walk this morning and thought I would share the depressing fog with you all as I can't share the Sun.

Nice images of the fog-bound weather Alexandra.

Your question about our dismal weather of late, has been answered elsewhere..

Thanks for sharing

I can understand your frustration with the fog, but on the plus side those are really beautiful pictures!

Hi Alexandra (Montana) !

Nice pictures of Cheshire ?
Have you tried Macro photography ? I think you would be terrific at it. Its not expensive...I found free advice on the web and you can get an extension tube for your camera which converts your camera so even non macro lenses can be used.

Nice to know you are taking exercise. I find cloudy nights and days are a good time to either learn new processing methods or perfect them. Also reading...I am doing lots of overtime from work at home..so I can afford those expensive Solarscope filters...!!!

Nice shots Alexandra - I like the last pic - it would make a good (large) picture for a wall. Enjoy your fog - the sun will reappear one day.
Best wishes for the new year. John W (down under and sunny).

WoW Alexandra! These are really pretty. They remind me of some of the ones I have taken here in the forests and fields along the Blue Ridge Parkway in the high Appalachians. The fog may be bad for solar observing but it really gives forest and glade a mystical feel and that really shows in your photos.

Two thumbs up!

James

Thanks guys :)

I'm not actually sure where Cheshire ends but this was in the Peak District National Park, not far from here. I must look up where Cheshire ends ;)

Photography is a whole new game, my camera didn't like the cold and is over 10 years old. The battery kept dying so I had to keep it in my pocket (the battery not camera). It wasn't that cold either, the temps are now 14 degrees, the same as we get in July

The Sun has broken this afternoon :hamster: but behind thick hazy cloud. I tried CaK but didn't get more than half a disc :( it was a waste of time. So did the garden winter pruning instead.

Alexandra,
So far I am under clouds too. I have the SUNoculars ready on short notice though. Garden pruning is a good idea. I need to do that too!

Lovely photos, Alexandra. I always find those large ‘sinkholes’ in reservoirs somewhat intimidating…..imagine falling into one :o

Happy New Year, Alexandra: having breakfast with your beautiful pictures… thank you for sharing them. Here the new year came in with rain but it is not cold. I will put a word with the sun to be good with you in 2022 and show up more frequently.
