I know this doesn't work for everyone, but here's a 'stereoscopic' view of the Sun at Perihelion and Aphelion. The trick is to get the images scaled on your screen to align with your left and right eye and then stare through the images so that your brain merges them together (don't cross your eyes- this is a common mistake and is the wrong way to view these types of images). Let your eyes relax, stare through and your brain will do the rest.
Anyhow, what you should see is the aphelion disk fall away to the distance with the perihelion disk in the foreground.
Intended as a bit of fun and a novel way to show the effect. I hope it works for you.

Stu, I failed. Although I can easily see images in stereometric pictures with two white dots. In any case, both the photo and the idea are excellent!

Not to worry, Ivan. It can be tricky to see the full effect. It seems to work best on a smartphone, sideways on, as the image scale seems better suited to the eyes.
