Random photography stuff
Hi all.
Been a while since I posted here. Weather's still not great (and when it is, the sun's too low on the horizon to do much). I've been checking in and reading posts every now and then though. A late best wishes for the new year. Hope you're all doing well.
I do miss posting here, so figured I'd share some of my other (non-solar) photography of late.
Thanks for looking.
1) These are the remnants of a forest that burned down about a decade ago. It's essentially located in the middle of huge moorland; giving it even more of a desolate impression. I decided to go black and white on this one to emphasize that feeling.
2) Those of you who know my photography can probably guess what's coming next. Wildlife and birds, lots of birds
Fallow deer:
Gadwall:
Buzzard:
Kestrel:
Blackbird:
Great tit:
Greenfinch:
Coal tit:
3) Not sure if I even mentioned it here before, but I actually do a lot of deepsky astronomy. I have 2 remote setups that are pretty much capturing data every clear night. Not sure how much interest there is for that sort of thing here, so I won't spam images. Just check the link below for a few of (what I consider) my best images if you're interested.

Cheers James.
As we get a bit further into winter (and closer to spring) over here, things should hopefully start to improve. I've given the solar equipment a good clean over the holidays, so it's all ready to go again

Re: Random photography stuff
Welcome back to the land of the Solar-living Jochen.
Of, we are both on a similar parallel on Earth and not that far apart either, so understandably our winters will be somewhat similar.
You have so well captured both landscape, nature and Deep-Sky images, which are absolutely superb and interesting.
Thanks for taking the time to enchant us in your varied imagery..
I'll just include my current-weather status image as appropriate to our forecasts..
Regards
Terry

Cheers Mark.
Thanks for the kind words, Terry. And your skies do look like a carbon copy of mine

Jochen,
Those are really beautiful collections - both the post and your website. Thanks for sharing!
A great Squid Nebula - an interesting object not least because it was so recently discovered!

Re: Random photography stuff
Thanks Kevin.
It is a very interesting object indeed. Both visually and what (we think) is going on there.
The OIII emissions were a lot fainter than I was expecting though. Ended up spending just shy of 24 hours worth of exposure time just on those.

Jochen, your photos are fabulously beautiful, they fit the best magazines about astronomy and wildlife. It's definitely a talent.
