February 4th Sunset

Post by MapleRidge »

Good day all...

The days are stretching out so my ability to catch the sunset on the way home is more favorable now. The pre-sunset image taken tonight looks across the neighbors farm. It looks cold, and by most peoples standards it was (-14C) ;)

Brian,

Beautiful shot! Yup, cold by my standards. I'll try to brave the 0C high today (cold by New Mexico standards!) to image that huge prom coming around.

Thanks Mark and Kevin!

Kevin, that prom is worth the session in the cold! Besides that there are several AR's putting on a fantastic show too.

Brian,

It was well worth the cold - I'm not used to having so many things to look at! The prom kept getting bigger through the afternoon, and was absolutely stunning in the eyepiece at the end. I hope my images are ok - seeing was never good and actually pretty bad by the end. I hope you managed to get some data.

Thanks Alexandra, I hope the weather makes a change for the better for you and the other UK observers!!!

Kevin, it was a great prom indeed. I will be posting my images later today once I finish post-processing refinements. I will look for yours too!
