Hello friends!
I want to buy Telecentric System for PST and Lunt air-space etalon and dont know X and brand for my Celestron Edge HD 8
I wrote book Solar Astronomy and author say that Air Spaces Etalons need F40 TO F50 for good work etalon
In my mind for Celestron Edge HD 8 needs 3.7 (F41) or 4x (F44) for good as for me with 180mm aperture.
3X as for me not good for air-space etalon only f33
What do you say???
Which brand awesome?
Thank you!

Baader TZ4.
But you'll have an 8 meter focal length - do you live on a mountain top with near perfect seeing? You'll also need a 0.5 focal reducer to get down to a 4 meter focal length after the filter... which still is pretty enormous.

Also, a telecentric won't work as well as you think with an airspaced etalon.
If you use a donor pst run it in collimated mode using the stock lenses, that will give you a lot more contrast.

Hello,
I have run more precise calculations of the effective FWHM of an etalon according to the f-ratio in a telecentric system.
First, the transmission curve of the etalon depending on the f-ratio :
For air-spaced etalon :

For mica-spaced etalon :

More interesting the effective FWHM of air-spaced etalon :
and for mica-spaced etalon :
Cheers
