Its hard to have friends on here that you know are going through so much, but given the distance being unable to directly help them. Wishing you all the best for you, your family and all those impacted by these events. Stay strong brother.

Yes, Peter, I am still in Kherson. It is not easy - to find a releable relatively safe way to leave the city and
get to a more safe place.

If nothing prevents, we should leave in a 1-2 days.

Valery

Thanks for the information, Valery.
I feel grief that you are faced with this terrible choice.
It is a horrible option for you to leave everything behind but who knows what worse things could happen if you stay.
Right now it is your life and the lives of your wife and your daughter that matter most.
Someday you will rebuild what you’ve lost.
I hope you can find safety soon.

Thank you for keeping us posted.

Good luck and stay safe Valery, I really hope you manage to find a safe way out. It is so hard to work out which is the best decision and I can't even imagine what it must be like to make these decisions and be forced to leave everything you know and love. But remember, you have many friends you can draw help from.

Hello all,

I just received this from Valley:

Tue, Apr 19, 9:00 PM
to me

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your care. We are safe and unharmed for now.

Tomorrow we should leave our home, our city Kherson.
And tomorrow my daughter will reach 16. I hope we will celebrate it tomorrow evening.

I still hope we will be back. I hope soon.

I will keep you (all you) updated if I have access to the I-net.

Best regards,

Valery

Dear friends,

Unfortunately, we could not drive through the front line. On this day (Thursday), in the selected place, where many refugees crossed the front line, the battles were used using artillery and rockets. Having near the front line for about 6 hours, waiting for permission to cross the front line and without having received it, we were need to return home. All this adventure took about 11 hours.

Best regards,

Valery

What a horrible nightmare for you and your country.
I hope you succeed on Saturday.

Thanks for your support and good wishes, friends!

However, unfortunately, our second attempt has failed. Orks didn't allow to move through the front line.
So many and may childrens were here and they all were need to go back instead of unoccupied territories.

Dear Valery;
I’m so sad this attempt has failed and so sorry for the fear and disappointment you and your family are enduring.
You seem to be very close to the front lines so maybe things can change rapidly.
I can only hope that some window of opportunity opens soon for you.
Thank you for taking time to share your news and I wish for your continued safety.
Peter

This is just awful. I was reading that the Russians are not letting food and medicine in and restricting refugees out.
We are with you in spirit.

Dear friends,

In an hour me and my family will go to the front line and try to cross it to get on the un-occupied territory.

I keep my fingers crossed.

Regards,

Valery

Prayers said. 🙏🏻.

Are you leaving Ukraine itself or just crossing the line out of Kherson? Either way my thoughts and hopes go with you.
