Hi
I use ASI 174 mm for solar capture.
However when I play back the videos on VLC, Media Player or Asi Programme , I do NOT get the detailed image that I captured!
It does not have the dark details and contrast thatI got at the time of capture by , Adjusting Gamma, Exposure, Contrast etc!
I used to get this when I imaged with My DMK cameras
I know when I process the video to one image that I can retrieve these features, But I would also like to retain them in the Video files.
Can anyone help please!
Tnx
Derek

Re: Solar Image capture replay
What capture software are you using and what file type do you save (8 bit AVI, 16bit SER)?

ASÏ Capture is a very rudimentary acquire software. Perhaps you should try SharpCap or FireCapture A lot of Sun imagers use this two software packages.
VLC will not open a *.ser file. The *.ser file tye was invented by a German guy for his video acquire software called Lucam Recorder, which is now dead but many other have adopted that file type as it opens very fast and as far as I know has no compression. There is a SER file viewer which you can find here https://sites.google.com/site/astropipp/ser-player
I suggest you ask ZWO why your files do not open in VLC.
Have you tried the Windows Media Player or any other video player ?

Re: Solar Image capture replay
Hi Derek,
Just made a test and Windows Media Player does open the avi files made by ASI Capture.
