Monday Mooning - 14th March

Post by marktownley »

After a cloudy weekend, when I was at work on Monday there (typically) wasn't a cloud in the sky, so having to abstain from solar I decided the next best thing was a bit of lunar after sunset. Scope was the APM100/800 and the PGR camera at prime focus, for the closeups the APM 1.6x telecentric was used and the ZWO290mm. Seeing wasn't too bad, a few shots have a bit of crossover but pleased how these came out. Nice to do some visual at the same time too! :)

Thanks RAiner, how do these look in terms of brightness on your monitor? The last lot I did were a little dark.

Superb!!! they look great on my work computer but then this is not calibrated at all so is meaningless :)

Glad you had some clear spells, the past 2 evenings the Moon has been behind thick haze, although last night we had a lovely lunar halo :)

Hi Mark,

As all this is question of taste and answering your question, yes they look good on my monitors, all 3 ;)

Nicely balanced as well as a very delicate sharpening as I like it. Well done ...

Those are really beautiful shots! They are perhaps a tad darker than average on my (uncalibrated) screen, but personally I think they look terrific that way.
