Start your engines ... Lyrids 2022 are coming

Post by rsfoto »

Hi,

Tomorrow morning the Lyrids will be active at about 05:00am local Summertime. It will be interesting to see what the stations will detect.

Hi,

I was ready but a Thunderstorm and our electric supply company decided that I should not do it and so I had an energy power cut for 21 hours and 45 minutes which started April 21st at 17:00 and ended April 22nd at 14:45 ...

Look at the 2 graphs. Stan Nelson in USA did get a good signal ...

Hi Rainer,

My dedicated PC has been out of action for a little while (running my magnetometer and meteor detection software) because of building work, but I got it up and running again just in time to catch the peak Lyrids. My magnetometer is not so lucky and will be out of action for a couple of months.

Anyhow, here are my data for the Lyrids.

And last to the party as usual.....
Hi all,
After the post Quadrantid lull in activity..... in both meteors and me!!!... here's my heat map and graphics for the Lyrids. I still seem to be recording more meteors than most, so clearly need to raise the lower detection threshold limit in the Echos programme to show more realistic numbers. Ho Hum.
All best wishes,
Les
