Sol FD WL 2022.05.13

Post by nicosolcy »

First run with ASI183 and I must say I am impressed! I need to change ROI to 3,300 x 3,300 to have a wee bit more space around the sun, to account for inaccuracies in tracking, but other than that, the combo of ES 80mm f6 + Siebert Telecentric 1.75x + ASI183 is exactly what I wanted, taking into account the weight and size of gear I would be comfortable lugging about.

I will post full size jpegs just this time to show what I managed to do and from now on, I will have to resize accordingly. 1,500 16bit frames in FC at about 18fps, best 15% in Autostackert, then IMPPG, Photoshop and then on to iPad for iPhotos and Pixelmator Pro.

So, on today's menu Vs yesterday:

- 3 new regions are developing and are as yet unnamed.
- 3009 is slowly dying out
- 3008 is developing another couple of spots
- 3006 is spreading even more
- 3007 is developing even more spots
- 3010 just around the corner and promises to be a decent one, along with a new spot below it

Apologies for the file sizes - like I said, it's a one-off thing to show what the 183 can do, plus I used Pixelmator Pro super-resolution feature which effectively doubles resolution.

Some kind of compression does not show the full size of the images. Too bad as the original ones are 6338 x 6338!

Right clicking and opening in a new tab seems to work to show full resolution!

Cheers Maurits,

For a first trial run and yet more dust overhead, I am quite pleased. Still learning and finalizing workflow, but I'll get there!
