14th May AR3012 - 3007 Bright Day

Hi Everyone

Like many who got out today the Sky ended up bright in the afternoon however focusing was a real struggle, the Astmospheric Turbulence was truely pants.

AR3012 -3007 was truely amazing there are inexcess of twenty spots in the active grouping

I also did a little CAK and Continuum however for some reason left the images on the remote hard drive, I wil get them a little later when it cools down

I used my trusty 174 and Daystar setup for HA and my SP102M for the CAK and Continuum, suprisingly the CAK was ok today

Hope they come over ok.

These are beautiful! this active region was a real gem to study yesterday my seeing wasn't too bad either after my rum and coke

It was a superb active area to watch, I watched it over several hours, a lot of cloud early on, then it tended to clear up around lunch time.

On the home side due to cloud cover I had mowed the lawn by lunchtime, so as not to waste time.

Many thanks for you comments on the images,

I gave changed from 2 x bin to full Resolution bin x 1 16 bit, on Mark Ts recommendation to increase quality, I will say that your images are sublime.

I have more time now as I lost my job, to spend on my favourite part of the hobby, all things Solar, looking into getting one of the Apollo Max cameras which I think will also help.

I have also considered setting up a camera for live video feed with the Coronado SM60 but not sure how easy it will be to setup

This Solar cycle is going to be like no other as the equipment and ability to capture it has never been available before.

The seeing in the morning was awful, I struggled to get focused

In the afternoon when the mount had flipped the seeing was a little better, I do agree No 2 is better

I will be out shortly to have a play today, looks like it will be warm.
