Some images from May 14
I've enjoyed looking at others' work over the last while and decided to drag my self outside and do some of my own. I can't say the weather was that great but it was fun to get back to imaging. I have 3 new toys to play with over this
coming season: a new Stellarvue 127D, a new (to me) solar prism from Baader (called a "P" version) in that it lets you swap
neutral density filters to lighter versions especially for higher res work, and something that a handful of people have gotten into already (initially described in very useful detail by Malveaux), using a Lunt 60 MT etalon mod on the back end
of various scopes. The first two items have already arrived and the LS60MT should be in my hands in a couple of weeks
according to progress reports.
Here are some humble offerings from May14. The complete disks were done using a Lunt 80 in double stack with a 2X Barlow and the prom was the taken with the 127D with a 2X Televue with a Quark Combo at f15 with an ASI 290.
The first full disk was a 2 panel stitch using an older Grasshopper 6 Mp camera using some very tight panels and the other full disks were the result of stitching 5 panels taken with the same camera. In a couple of images, you can see a ghost
which becomes obvious when you boost the high level in processing. I will have to remember to rotate this out of the way
next time.

Re: Some images from May 14
I notice the second one up from the bottom the most. I remember it from my visual view today through my SMII60. It appeared as a double triangle, one inverted in the scope. Your image is way beyond my visual view. In yours fine detail is visible and the larger one appears more fan shaped since you picked up fainter parts of it than I could see.
And it's so much bigger than my 25x visual view!!

That triangle took off like a rocket. It was amazing to see it so far off the limb and still be visible!

By then I was probably at my stepson's baseball game. I couldn't have seen it anyway, it had clouded up and started to rain.
