CaK prom 19.5.2022
Yesterday was a warm and nice day with cloud haze and some brief moments of clear sky. My initial plan was to try first-time Hinode Solar Guider, and after some trial and error it turned out quite a useful purchase!
Here is one pic from yesterday. I tried using an adapter for Lunt60TFa external filter as an aperture mask, as it sits perfectly to TS102ED. This looked like an improvement I have been looking for.
Surface and eruption with different exposure and added together in post-processing. The eruption was already lost in space when I got the hydrogen-alpha setup back in action.
TS102ED f/11, reduced to 60mm aperture, Lunt CaK module 12mm, ZWO ASI174MM. Sky-Watcher AZEQ6GT in EQ mode, Hinode Solar guider.

Wow, nice capture !
What is the Hinode solar guider ? How accurate is the tracking to the sun. Do you need to adjust the mount after 1 hour ??
Thanks
Magnus

Dear Petrus,
I am jealous of all your super solar equipment and cameras.
Do you mind if I downloaded your image of the prom/CaK disc here and try and process it to adjust colours, I am practising my image processing skills.
Many thanks.
Magnus

Re: CaK prom 19.5.2022
Thank you very much everyone
I cannot comment about Hinode for much, as this was my first test run. It was a partially cloudy/haze day, but during my imaging session, it kept the region of interest very nicely. It is possible to adjust how aggressive Hinode adjusts the corrections for the mount. For solar animations, this should be a great help.
Sure, you have my permission to practise with my image, please feel free to post your results too! I am still learning myself too, so I am always happy to see good tips for processing.

Thank you Petrus,
I am grateful. Your image is good as it has several zones and colour possibilities. I will do what I can and show results on this forum.
Thanks, Magnus
