Sol FD WL 2022.05.23

Post by nicosolcy »

Pretty busy from end to end today. Looking forward to Wednesday when 3014 will reach the limb!

But I am not sure I like my processing - as I am drawn to Solarham's enhanced image which is a bit exaggerated. More experiments to follow!

Opinion time:

Image softer as above and with less stretching, or as below?

Sigh, I need to learn how to work on gradients!

OK, I colorized the redo version. I am still liking the stretched version more (second set of two images)..

The original set seems to lose sharpness at the limb, whereas the second due to stretching shows more details and better gradients

The last two (mono and it’s coloured twin) look great and more accurately represent the real phenomenon of limb darkening.

Cheers all!

@ Stu, I think so myself. More trials to come - only way to learn!
