"The Tunnel" animation 6/3/2022

Post by rigel123 »

Posting these as I get to them as I had a run of pretty good seeing the last 2 days. This one was a bit of an exception as it was later in the day and seeing was a bit variable. Got in a little closer using the Skyris 236M and 2 X Barlow on this NW prom from yesterday. Not a lot of action but it was a very "thick" prom and it appears we are looking through the arch of the prom. A bit of plume rising up on the left arch of the prom. 45 minutes in real time. Lunt LS60T DS.

It reminds me of the eerie " time tunnel " seen on the 1980s era movie " The Final Countdown " where a modern Nimitz class aircraft carrier was teleported back to December 7 1941.

Very good indeed Warren. After a week of great weather away I return home today to rain and thunder storms.

~laughing~ It's been awhile since I have seen it. Now if the prom had a flare with it we'd have the lightning for the tunnel!!

Hi Warren...

Great animation of the prom...nice work :bow

James, I remember the 'storm' you mention that shifts time for the Nimitz in The Final Countdown. Some of the post flare loops look even more like the special effects in the movie.
