M3:43 Flare in the early AM UTC hours of 6-13-22. AR13032

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Around 3:30 UTC I started getting SpaceWeatherLive alerts concerning an M-class flare occurring in the big region of the now triple numbered AR13030, AR13032, AR13033 complex in the NE quadrant of the Sun. Centering on AR13032 but spreading to all three active regions is a huge long lasting flare or series of flares with the peak being a moderate M3.43. I can only imagine a huge series of huge lightning bolts flashing back and forth repeatedly for many Earth diameters across these active regions from spot to spot. I hope some of our Asian and Australian members caught them in their scopes and cameras.

Here's the GONG, SWL and SDO data.

I bet it would have looked great in a scope. It was big! But it was nighttime here and GONG and SDO imagery was the only way to see it.
