Monday Sun in Ha 20th June 2022
A late afternoon session when the high haze finally cleared. Being late, the conditions were not ideal and they were getting worse by the minute with rising warm air from nearby house roof tiles.
Anyhow here are the images captured in Ha of the main features on view today (AR13038, the group 13030/13032 and a nice prom).
All were captured on my 150 mm DS at f34 (sorry Valery)

One of the challenges with a late session compared with a morning session is that the angle of the scope relative to vertical completely changes and the effect of gravity on the etalons makes them shift and they require re-clocking as well as re-tuning, burning up precious time during a limited observing window. I just about managed to get everything more or less correct.
Thanks for looking.
Stu.

Re: Monday Sun in Ha 20th June 2022
Hi
I had a similar view of those flares with the Rumak180. And there were two nice large ones on the other side as well.
The longish spot group had lots of fine details running down it. And a sprinkling of filaments.
Cheers. Andrew.

Lovely as usual. I hadn't appreciated that the angle of orientation to gravity would mean re-clocking (had thought it was only needed wrt orientation of the etalon to the sun)!

Yup, same thing is just as applicable with my lil' 50mm double stack. A re-clocking for pm viewing compared to am viewing.
