22.6.2022 One last look at AR3038

Post by Dennis »

Hi there,
today i managed some new experiments with closeups. Bumblebee was helping.
Gotta say, i like the result ^^

Seeing was forecasted around 1 arcmins, but difficult because haze due to airtraffic. I could use some gaps in between.
Finally some bad weather incoming, so i get a break

regards
Dennis

Very impressive, Dennis!
I see you made quite big tilt of the camera, I've got also the NR issue with Apollo-M 432, more than with 174.
BTW I started using the robo focuser (ESATTO 2" in my case) with C11 and it's definitely worth it!!

Leo

Thanks all,
Leo: yes, despite the large tilt NR are a (little) problem if i use the daystar reducer. One day i have to optimize this with changing the tiltangle, but this is for when seeing is bad.
I was thinking too about a motorfocus, but in the end i can manage manually and prefer to keep the setup as simple as possible. I know myself, if i cant set up within 10 minutes i will setup less then usual.

Btw did you image AR3038 too? Would be interested in how it turns out with the C11.

Great closeups Dennis ! Very enjoyable fine detail there. It looks like it was flaring ?

Thanks Franco,
I think it was not out of the ordinary flaring, just the "usual" bright light arcs.

I tried imaging also yesterday, but came out awful and nothing appropriate to post, too much turbulence.
clear skies

Ah shame.. im curious about a C11 too, but i think its just a bit too heavy for quick and pleasant setup.. also my mount wont support this for long i guess.
