June 23 2022. Imaging the NW limb prominence.

I just had to get in on the imaging the NW filaprom mania! Session time was just after 16:00 UTC. Partly cloudy with below average seeing. The temperature is 84F ( 28.8C ) The scope used is the Coronado SolarMax II 90. The camera is the ZWO ASI178MM. Stacked using AVIStack and processed/edited in GIMP.

I'll be going to ASTRO IIDC and the PGR camera very soon. I have more tutorials to watch! :)

Nice ones James! Looks like you were tuned to highlight the prom as I don’t see any evidence of the filaprom portion in the image.

I think I was tuned a bit high. I can see a few tiny EBs near the large spots in the lower image.

I also observed visually and saw six regions on the WL photosphere at 25x with the Orion70. Four of these were numbered regions. AR13038 and AR13034 ( NW Quad ) AR13035 ( SW Quad ) and AR13040 ( SE Quad ) I concentrated on imaging the filament gone prominence today.

That’s one of my goals. To increase my imaging output and get better at it but not to totally replace my visual observations. I’ll do both!!
