June 27 2022 Observations. WL through thin clouds.

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Session time is around 17:00 UTC. The skies are mostly cloudy, nearly overcast with both thick and thin clouds. Uncertain seeing. The temperature is 77F ( 25C ). White Light Continuum only.

Orion 70mm Solar Telescope. 25x ( WL )
I can see four areas of activity on the white light photosphere today. The easiest by far is AR13040 in the SW quadrant just west of the CLM. I can see four spots there. Two connected in the southern part of the group that have a surrounding penumbra. Just NE lies another spot without a visible penumbra. A pore is seen just SE of it. NNE almost on the CLM in the NW quad lies another small spot. It's not much north of the equator. I can also see a couple of small spots close together in the far WNW nearing the limb. I can also faintly see associated faculae with these. A single small spot is seen in the SE quadrant.

Overall the Sun is quite calm and through the thin clouds I notice no granulation though at this low power it would be hardly noticed anyway.

Carpe Lumen!

James

Nar, in the week they stay in bed when I have to get up for work. They've both gone back to bed now after their breakfast.
