June 27 2022 AR3040 and prom Ha
Hi all,
today I tried to get lucky with the following: C11(Aries D-ERF) + Quark + Player One 432 camera (9um) without a focal reducer, relying on very promising seeing forecast 1"...
I checked with the Solar Spreadsheet file, it shows critical sampling at f/42 and I obtained f/40 by fact, 0.17"/pix. Images looked oversampled and best record moments with about 1" seeing were not enough for such a scale. Or both.
I still decided to share couple of files, AR3040 with a pretty small spot and prom on SE limb.

They still look good Leo! Viewing them less than full size in the forum thread compensates for any apparent oversampling.

OMG, SPOD! Many thanks to all of you for kind comments, very appreciated!
Mark, I know you're very attentive to have an optimal sampling of every setup, it's correct indeed. I tested the limit.
Alexandra, although I use the standard Quark 4.2x, I was surprised when took 3 pix position on the limb to measure the actual focal ratio and got f/40, less than nominal. Maybe it is due the mirror position. The distance between rear Quark filter and the chip was about 65mm, the robo focuser added more 90mm space between tube and Quark.
Dennis, the only true that SCT + Quark + Apollo Max is very demanding of the seeing!
thanks for looking

Splendid Leo !
The 9 micron pixel is a perfect match for your setup. Well done !

Many thanks, guys!
Exactly, Christian, that was the first reason to take 432 camera with 9um pixel for C11+Quark!
