Quick Solar on Sunday - 3rd July
This morning promised clear(ish?) skies very first thing today, so, I decided to get up early, have revenge on the cats and wake them up too, and get outside setup ready to do some observing. The sky was very hazy, with high cloud scudding around most of the time. I started off with the Ha full disk with the DS50, and this was looking quite washed out contrast wise compared to what I can get in decent conditions, this made it harder to tune for an even disk.

I decided to switch to CaK, and by now I seemed to have a bit of a window where the sky was more blue than milky, so set about snapping away. First off the full disk at 40mm f15 with the ZWO183mm:

The seeing wasn't great so not wanting to push it too much I opted for 66mm f15, again with the ZWO183mm.

Given a bit of blue sky and transparency makes all the difference (compared to the Ha), and are pleased with how the CaK came out. Totally clouded over now and a band of rain has just come through, so I think that is it for observing today, still, better than clouds all day!
Hope you like these and hope you have clear skies where you are!
Mark

Those came out well Mark, you can definitely tell the transparency was better during the CaK shots.

Its always trial and error with the weatherforecast..
Very crisp CaK images and closeups. The h-alpha is nice too.

Re: Quick Solar on Sunday - 3rd July
You got great results in a narrow observing window, Mark. No chance of anything useful here between the building work (dust risk) and cloudy conditions.
