Small Flare in AR13046

Post by LauraMS »

I had some luck today to observe a small flare in AR13046 using my Bresser 152 refractor with Daystar Quark and Baader DERF:

Image

Here the video of the event. I saw the flare when it already had started and made videos in rapid succession for the first 15min or so:

Image

One can nicely see how the dark pattern of hydrogen gas which has been emitted is wondering towards the upper periphery.

Best, Laura

I can’t see any images here. Flares are always nice to observe and image though.

Hi James and All,

sorry for the issues! I have been posting here so rarely in the last two years that I almost forgot how to post images ...

Moreover, I saw the images/animation on in my preview and final post, and needed to look at the post from another computer to realize the issue.

Anyway, no more excuses - image material should be visible now :D

So again for issues.

Laura

Laura

These are really nice flare captures and nice animations of it. It looks like a C class. You seem to be the only SolarChat member who caught it.

Congrats 🥳

James
