Sunset After A Thunder Storm

Post by Bob Yoesle »

Last Tuesday July 12th brought the first images from the James Webb Space Telescope. I was mesmerized, and decided to put together a Hubble v Webb comparison image of the SMACS 0723 cluster at the same orientations and scales:

Just as I was finishing, I heard a clap and rumbling of thunder from a thunderstorm that had just passed to the north. Running outside, I found a magnificent sunset display of rays and colors...

Beautiful sunset pictures!
The Webb pictures are amazing but I wish they would process out the diffraction spikes, just my personal preference.
